The BSHSD Bi-Metal Hardwood-to-Steel Decking Screw combines a hardened steel drill point with a 316 stainless steel body, delivering exceptional corrosion resistance and reliable performance in exterior decking applications. Its bi-metal construction enables fast installation into steel without the need for pre-drilling, helping to reduce installation time while maintaining the durability of stainless steel.

Material

316 Stainless Steel (Carbon Steel Tip)

Features & Benefits
  • 3-stage rimmed stepped head delivers a neat, professional finish.
  • Bi-metal construction features a carbon steel drill tip with wings welded to a corrosion-resistant stainless steel body, allowing single-step installation of most hardwood decking into steel (1.2-5.0 mm steel thickness).
  • 14 TPI thread ensures strong, reliable holding power in steel.
  • Type 316 stainless steel body provides exceptional corrosion resistance and accommodates the natural movement of timber decking.
  • Zinc coating to avoid dissimilar metal corrosion
  • T25 6-lobe drive reduces driver-bit cam-out for easier installation and a superior finished appearance.
Installation
  • Allows direct fastening of most hardwood decking to steel (1.2-5.0mm thick) without pre-drilling.
  • Maximum decking board thickness: 25mm for the 50mm screw; 40mm for the 65mm screw.
  • Suitable for use with a single layer of steel only. Do not use in overlapped steel sections or where multiple steel layers must be pierced. Do not apply excessive driving force, as this may damage the screw.
  • Pre-drilling and countersinking may be required at board ends, butt joints, or in applications using denser timber species. Follow the decking board manufacturer's recommendations where applicable. Ensure a minimum of 2-3 threads are engaged in the steel substrate.
Applications
  • Hardwood-to-Steel Decking
  • Steel Frame Applications
  • This screw is available for hand-drive only

BFHSD Bi-Metal Screw Timber-to-Steel - Collated & Loose

The BFHSD is designed to fasten hardwood decking to steel joists without sacrificing performance. This 316 stainless steel bi‑metal screw requires no pre‑drilling, making them easier and faster to install than typical decking screws.

The CBSDG cement sheet screw is ideal for fixing cement sheeting-to-steel joists. The CBSDG winged self-drilling screw requires no predrilling, making them easier and faster to install than standard winged self-drilling screws.

TBG

The TBG Timber-to-Steel screw is a heavy duty 14 gauge fastener designed for timber to steel connection. The winged design creates a clearance hole in the timber resulting in no sheet ride.
