The Simpson Strong Tie ‘Stop Squeaks’ promotion was born from our desire to educate and improve existing building practices throughout Australia. Squeaks often happen when Builders are fastening with nails instead of screws. People don’t often think about when a house settles, the sub flooring dries/expands what the final outcome will be - Squeaky flooring. When this happens it causes the sheet flooring to rub against each other, against the subfloor, or against nail casings, causing what we call ‘Squeaks’.
Call backs from squeaky flooring has been a recurring issue in Australia. Often costing builders lost wages, extra hours dedicating to finding a solution, resulting in longer days, expensive callbacks and often damage to business reputations.
Simpson Strong-Tie WSV screws provide the clamping force to pull together joists and sheet flooring, eliminating any gaps and therefore reducing if not eliminating floor squeaks. Terms and conditions apply.
