Simpson Strong-Tie Strong-Drive® SDWC Truss Screw provides an easier and faster alternate solution for rafter and truss connections.

Since 1956, Simpson Strong-Tie® has been developing innovative ways to help its customers find better, faster and easier ways to build safer, stronger structures. Over the last 60 years there has been a number of new products from Simpson Strong-Tie® that has delivered better construction solutions; and the Strong-Drive® SDWC Truss Screw is no exception.

The Strong-Drive® SDWC Truss Screw provides an alternate solution for truss-to-top plate connections making installation faster and easier on-site. Compliant with the Building Code of Australia, the SDWC Truss Screw is an alternate solution to conventional framing anchors that require multiple nails for truss tie downs.  The use of pneumatic nailing on this type of framing anchor has very specific conditions which may not be widely known or adhered to.  The ease of install of the SDWC screw has already seen this solution adopted by many in the trade as an alternate truss to top plate connection.

Featuring a fully threaded shank the SDWC Truss screws design provides optimal timber-to-timber engagement, requires no pre-drilling, and has a sharp tip for faster starts. Time is money on-site and not needing to climb a ladder to hand-nail this connection saves time. The compact countersinking head delivers a flush finish and the orange coating of the 152mm screw makes it easily identifiable for Building Surveyors on-site.

The SDWC Truss Screw can be installed from inside the structure, which eliminates exterior work. This is especially relevant on upper stories and helps to increase onsite job safety.  To ensure correct installation, every SDWC screw kit includes a metal guide to provide the right angle for optimal performance values.
