Quik Drive® Auto-Feed Screw Driving Systems by Simpson Strong-Tie were introduced to the Australasian region more than 15 years ago with a limited range of fasteners. The ergonomic and time saving aspect of Quik Drive was quickly adopted by many for the fastening of flooring to timber and steel joists. Since then the Quik Drive system by Simpson Strong-Tie has diversified its range of collated fasteners to suit various applications, including decking, flooring, underlay, cladding, sheathing.
Simpson Strong-Tie Australia was, and still is, a leading advocate for compliance to AS 1860 which stipulates gluing and screwing of sheet flooring, for residential construction. Screwing down floors also saves thousands of dollars for builders in costly callbacks of rectification work due to squeaky floors.
The Quik Drive system requires the use of a Screwgun for it to work and till now power tool manufacturers only made corded screwguns. Consequently the most frequently asked question has been “Is it available in cordless?”…
The new CORDLESS Quik Drive solution combines a high torque motor from Dewalt, together with the new WSV Subfloor screw that requires less torque to drive. This new system provides the required clamping force to reduce squeaking floors, with the convenience of a cordless tool.
The PRO250 Cordless Quik Drive accepts 8-12 gauge collated screws with a range of lengths from 40-65mm, and is available as a full kit (which includes batteries and charger), or a skin only option.
